News from the Eugene Airport

January is usually a slow travel month, but it was a busy one for Oregon Ducks fans! The Eugene Airport saw record passenger traffic in January 2011, thanks to fans traveling to the BCS National Championship game. Passenger numbers were up more than 24% over last January.

Airlines serving EUG are gearing up for a busy summer travel season. Starting June 9th, United Express will add a third flight per day between Eugene and Denver, and Delta Connection will upgrade an aircraft on one of the daily flights between Eugene and Salt Lake City from a 50-seat to a 65-seat with first class service. Allegiant Air is adding 35 flights this summer starting June 15th, with nonstop service between Eugene and Las Vegas, Phoenix-Mesa, Oakland, and Los Angeles.
