UO Benefactor Donna Woolley
The university community was saddened to learn of the death of its longtime friend and benefactor, Donna Woolley, on February 25 from heart failure. She was eighty-five. A lifelong Oregon resident and Eugene businesswoman, Donna served as a UO Foundation Trustee from 1979 to 1989 and was an active emerita trustee since 1989.
Donna received the UO's Pioneer Award in 1980 and the UO Presidential Medal in 2005. She served on the advisory board for the Charles H. Lundquist College of Business and was a member of the Museum of Natural and Cultural History's advisory council. A dedicated Duck fan and a champion of education and children, Woolley extended her philanthropy and volunteerism beyond the UO to many organizations throughout Oregon. A celebration of life was held on April 2 at the John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts in Eugene.
