Pendleton Alumni Chapter Awards First “Let’er Duck” Scholarship
The University of Oregon Alumni Chapter awarded its first Let’er Duck Scholarship at the annual Let’er Duck alumni breakfast during the 2011 Pendleton Round-Up. Patrick Mulvihill, a 2011 Hermiston High School graduate, was the recipient of the $1,000 award.
Mulvihill, the son of Dr. Mark and Kris Mulvihill of Hermiston, graduated with honors with a 3.89 GPA. In addition, he earned 75 college credits from advanced placement courses at HHS and through Blue Mountain Community College. His BMCC GPA was 4.0. He will enter the University of Oregon as a junior this fall.
Mulvihill is an accomplished musician and will take music, foreign language, communications and English classes before declaring a major. He was attracted to UO by its curriculum versatility. “I appreciate this flexibility, because I have a wide array of interests,” Mulvihill wrote in his scholarship application. “Whether it be music, writing or any of my other interests, the U of O offers countless options.”
