But watching Avila, who wore her dormitory key on a green and yellow UO lanyard secured around her neck, load her last items into her room was nonetheless bittersweet. “It’s kind of sad,” said Covarrubias, whose comments in Spanish were translated by her daughter. “No one is left at home, but I am happy because she’s following her sisters’ footsteps.”

Duck Photo of the Month A True Duck Fan
My name is Marilyn Savage Fine. My Dad, Ernie Savage of Salem, was a proud graduate of the University of Oregon class of 1938. He never missed a Duck game on TV or radio in all those years since and he loved the days when he had a ticket to attend in person. This is a picture of his great-granddaughter, 15 month old Bayli Marie Thompson of Bend, dressed in her game day finest. My Dad had a children's shoe store in Salem for 45 years and did nothing but complain about how hard it was to fit shoes on his own children's web feet! And the next generation is carrying on the tradition! Go Ducks!
