Campus News Allen Hall Transformation Takes a Step Forward Eugene-based firm TBG will team up with Portland-based firm YGH for the Allen Hall Transformation project. Both firms, working together, bring experience in seismic upgrades, renovations to historic buildings and expertise in sustainable design. TBG architects worked on the UO Recreation Center and Knight Library additions, while YGH has worked on the UO Knight Law Center.

Crude Awakening
The "Crude Awakening Event" is an effort by University of Oregon students to awaken others to the effects of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. UO Graduates Embrace Modernized Ceremony It seemed like a big deal when the University of Oregon announced earlier this year that the class of 2010 would graduate on a Monday — instead of the usual Saturday after finals — so as not to conflict with the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field.

History Hidden in the Walls Architecture students are sharing their findings on the oldest building at Dorris Ranch, in Springfield. The Briggs farmhouse was built around 1874; fifteen years after Oregon became a state. University of Oregon students are carefully removing parts of the farmhouse to figure out what it looked like more than 100 years ago.

UO Club Team Wins National Title for Ultimate, Disc GameWhere sports are concerned, the University of Oregon’s claim to fame has long been track and field. Maybe Frisbee should be added to the list. The university’s women’s Ultimate club this week proved itself to be the best college team in the nation, winning the national tournament in Madison, Wis. Duck Softball: Season Ends in Super Regional In its first-ever Super Regional appearance, the No. 20-ranked University of Oregon softball team (36-21) wrapped up its season Sunday with a 7-2 loss to host and No. 8-ranked Missouri (51-11). The NCAA tourney’s ninth-seeded Tigers scored twice in the first inning, once in the fourth, and four more times in the sixth en route to its fifth straight postseason win and a return to the Women’s College World Series.

Oregon Alumni Football Players to Host “Ducks in Tahoe” Event
Former Oregon football players Ryan Perry-Smith (’98) and Matt Lofrano (’97) were a part of many great Ducks teams in the 1990’s. Ryan on the offensive side of the ball as quarterback, and Matt playing defense in the role of outside linebacker. But what may be the area's most treasured 'O' is on its way to become a part of national history.
