Bob Wren ’47
Bob Wren passed away at the age of ’88 of age related causes associated with Parkinson’s disease. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1947 with a Business Administration degree and he played and lettered for Coach Howard Hobson’s 1941-43 basketball teams.
Prior to his deployment to the Pacific in 1944 during World War II, he attended Officer’s Training at the University of Washington. During his attendance, he played for UW in the 1944 Rose Bowl against USC. After his oversees tour of duty serving as a First Lieutenant in the Marine Corps in Guadalcanal, Okinawa, Guam and Japan, he went back to the UO and completed his degree in 1947. He was also a member of the UO Delta Upsilon fraternity.
Bob worked as an insurance agent business owner in Eugene for over 30 years and had five children with his first wife Patricia Keck ’48. He married Joan Eggink in 1976 and was a supportive father to her three children. Remembrances to Cascade Health Solutions Hospice.
