Duck to Duck Mentoring

This fall, the Student Alumni Association (SAA) is very excited to launch our Duck to Duck mentoring program to current SAA members. During and after their time at UO, this mentoring program will allow SAA members to search a database of successful UO alumni to find a match that may help them along their journey to becoming great Ducks. As an alum myself, I have been excited to provide insight and wisdom about my time at UO and my journey after graduation in 2005.

Old Idaho Penitentiary in Boise is Site of the 2010 UO Preservation Field School

The field school is still accepting applications from interested students, architects, skilled trades workers, and those interested in preservation.

Mastering the Mass: Behind-the-Scenes Choral Conducting Workshop is the “Heart of the Festival”

One afternoon a few days before the Oregon Bach Festival opened this year, Helmuth Rilling was hunched over a musical score as though sitting at the keyboard of a giant organ. Ancient Sabertooth Salmon Gets CT Scan for Science

This is one patient who didn’t have to be told to stay perfectly still while getting a CT scan. No need. “Mr. Salmon,” you see, is not a living creature. He has long since passed. About 5 million years ago, to be precise.

Students Receive Scholarships from Pat Tillman Foundation

Bryan Boender was preparing for a career in financial management when he spent all of January 2001 training with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter at the firm's offices in the South Tower of New York's World Trade Center. Carlos Aguirre still remembers his first soccer ball. It was a Christmas present when he was 3 or 4 years old — quite a treat for a young boy growing up in a small town in northern Peru, where the neighborhood kids would wad up some socks or paper to play futbol, and use two stones or a pair of shoes to mark the goal.
