Get Connected Event Huge Success

Our Get Connected! event on September 16, 2010 in Portland’s White Stag Block was a huge success. 78 recent graduates registered to hear four recruiters who are UO alumni from Nike, Target, Peace Corps and Boly:Welch Recruiting. They shared their insights on what employers are looking for in job candidates during our current economic climate. Top tips included: be confident, positive and enthusiastic. In addition, they stressed the importance of knowing your personal story and telling it in a memorable way. After the one hour panel discussion, recent graduates connected with employers who are hiring and fellow UO alumni.

Alumni Career Services’ next workshop for recent graduates (2005-2010) is Job Searching from the Front Lines on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm in the White Stag Block. Join us for an interactive panel discussion with recent UO graduates who have landed jobs they enjoy. Be encouraged by their successes and learn from their experiences of job searching in today's economy.
