Ducks Win Civil War Blood Drive

The results are in. Duck fans outnumbered Beaver fans in this year's Civil War Blood Drive. More than 8,000 blood donations were collected during the annual event from Nov. 4th-20th. The end result was Ducks 4,482 - Beavers 3,903.

This is the second year the Ducks have won the blood drive since the event's first year in 2002. The Lane Memorial Blood Bank and the American Red Cross say the blood's shelf life will help keep their supply at a safe level through Christmas. Everyone who cast a vote was entered into a drawing for two tickets to this year's Civil War game in Corvallis. The winner was OSU student Matt Holland.
