General Membership Questions
Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
You don’t have to be an alum to be a member, you just have to be a fan of the University of Oregon! Memberships are available for both alumni and friends of the University. We currently have about 1,000 members who are not University of Oregon alumni, but are members of the UOAA because they appreciate what we do for the University, alumni and Duck fans.
By joining the UOAA, you join 18,000 other alumni and friends in an exclusive Duck network.
Yes, any two people living at the same address can be joint members, allowing you to save money and cut down on mail at the same time!
While your Alumni Association serves over 160,000 alumni annually, we offer special opportunities, access and benefits to our members. The UOAA is your University of Oregon connection to special university events, career opportunities, higher education advocacy, access and money saving discounts. We offer you every opportunity to be a part of whatever area of the University of Oregon it is that you care about.
Your alumni ID number, a randomly assigned eight digit ID number, is located on your UOAA membership card, the label of your latest Oregon Quarterly magazine, or your member renewal statement. However, if you have lost your card and do not know your number, we would be more than happy to look this up for you. Please call or e-mail us at (800) 245-ALUM or alumni@uoregon.edu.
Membership Benefits
A few of the great benefits include:
- Access to football tickets ahead of the general public
- Annual 20% off discount coupon to The Duck Store
- UO wall calendar
- Discounted entry into The Oregon Tailgate (the place to be before the game when the Ducks are on the road or at Autzen)
- Discounts at more than 70 Preferred Partner-Duck Deals businesses along the west coast
For a complete list of benefits, click here.
Please call our office at (800) 245-ALUM or email us at alumni@uoregon.edu and we’ll be happy to send you a new card.
UOAA members have access to purchase single game tickets ahead of the general public in early July. This is an online sale only.
We notify members of the details, including the online code, in late June. In order to receive the e-mail, make sure your membership is active and your e-mail address is updated with the UO. You may update your email address by sending it to alumrec@uoregon.edu.
For more information on the football ticket benefit, please click here.
One of the benefits to membership is that UOAA members are able to have access to the UO Rec Center. This facility is only available to students, staff, faculty and UOAA members.
If you are joining the UO Rec Center and need your membership card that day, feel free to stop by the office and we will give you your membership card. Alumni Association member user passes to the UO Rec Center are $120 per term (a $50 savings) or $400 for an annual membership (a $200 savings). Please visit the UO Rec Center to purchase your user pass.
If a key tag and keys are found and dropped in a U.S. mailbox, they are returned to the UOAA office. We can use the key tag number to get the keys back to you. The found keys can either be mailed to you or can be left at the reception desk of the Alumni Association for you to pick up.
If you call or e-mail to report your keys lost, please give us as much information as possible regarding where they were lost and how we can contact you. Unfortunately the keys may come in two weeks, two months, or not at all. It depends upon whether or not someone found them and was kind enough to drop them in a mailbox. If the keys have not been found after a couple of months, we ask that you contact us so that we can order a new key tag for you.
Take your UOAA membership card to the Knight Library circulation desk (click here for hours) to have a new library card issued or an old one renewed. You'll need to show your current UOAA membership card. See the UO Libraries Borrowing for Alumni page for more details. If you've just signed up for a membership, but haven't received your card in the mail, the UOAA may be able to call, fax or e-mail a confirmation of your membership purchase to the circulation desk.
UOAA Members receive free borrowing privileges from the UO Libraries. Just take your current UOAA membership card to the Knight Library Checkout Desk or any of the branch libraries to sign up to check out materials. Please remember to take photo id along with your UOAA membership card.
The main UOAA member benefit is the ability to check out books. Due to licensing restrictions, the UOAA member benefit does not include remote access to restricted online databases. However, workstations are available for use by the public at all UO library locations, providing on-site access to research databases. For more information, visit the UO Libraries home page: libweb.uoregon.edu
Yes, membership dues up to $1,000 are 80% tax deductible. Please call or email us at (800) 245-ALUM or alumni@uoregon.edu if you need verification of your membership payment for the year for your tax advisor.
Membership dues of $1,000 or more paid in one year are 100% tax deductible.
Life Membership
Life Membership can be paid in three ways
- In full
- In annual payments
- $25/month automatic deductions from a credit card
Please visit click here to view the payment options.
Currently, installment payments on existing memberships cannot be made online. Please call us at (800) 245-2586 with a Visa, MasterCard or Discover, or mail a check or credit card number to:
UO Alumni Association
1204 University of Oregon
Eugene, OR 97403
There is no late fee, interest or penalty for late installment payments. The only "penalty" is that after 90 days past due, a membership is considered a past due membership and benefits are suspended until a payment is received.
Once a year, past due members are contacted to see if they want to remain life members and make a payment, or change their payment plan. If members no longer wish to remain life members, the UOAA will switch those to an annual membership.
Annual members are essentially those joining for a year who will receive benefits for one year from the day they activate/purchase their membership and have the opportunity to renew or upgrade their membership.
While the benefits remain the same for both types of members, Life Members not only save money by not having to renew their annual membership year after year, but they are able to purchase four tickets at the member price to any UOAA event (versus two tickets at the member price for annual members).
No, essentially Life Members and Contributing Life Members receive the same benefits. However, those who join as Contributing Life Members have chosen to support the UOAA at a higher level, by putting more money toward the programs we provide to keep all alumni connected to the University and each other through events, communications, special opportunities and more.
