Dinner and Silent Auction

The University of Oregon Women in Graduate Sciences cordially invites you to our annual fundraiser, with keynote speaker Pamela Bjorkman. The evening will include a sit-down dinner and silent auction. Please join us as we celebrate our continued growth and success!

Registration:

$80 for individual seats (open table seating)
$960 for a table of twelve
Price includes one drink ticket, appetizers, starter salad and bread, dinner, dessert, and coffee/tea. 
Cocktail attire is suggested.

Dinner Options:

  • Mary's French Chicken Breast with mushroom, tomato, white wine sauce on top of a wild mushroom barley risotto and served with seasonal vegetables
  • Carlton Farms Pork Tenderloin with date chutney, coconut purple mashed potatoes, braised collard greens and fried onion straws
  • Roasted Garlic Polenta with a tempeh core, deep fried and topped with tomato jam, roasted cherry tomatoes and served with seasonal vegetables
Additional drinks are available for purchase (cash, Visa, and MasterCard accepted). The bar will feature sodas, beer, cider, wine, and two signature cocktails.

Pamela Bjorkman


Dr. Pamela Bjorkman: A Quick Biography

Dr. Pamela Bjorkman is a biochemist and structural biologist at the California Institute of Technology. A native of Portland, Oregon, Bjorkman earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon in 1978 and her doctorate from Harvard University in 1984. During her postdoctoral work she solved the first crystal structure of the MHC protein, a protein involved in the human immune response. Since starting her lab at Caltech, her research has centered on understanding how the immune system responds against HIV-1 and influenza in order to develop improved therapeutics. Her work has received wide recognition and she has received awards such as the William B. Coley Award for Distinguished Research in Fundamental Immunology, the Gairdner Foundation International Award for achievements in medical science, and membership in the National Academy of Sciences.
